Governor of MG confirms presence in SIAVS 2019
São Paulo, April 23, 2019 – The governor of Minas Gerais, Romeu Zema, confirmed that he will participate in the opening ceremony of the International Salon of Poultry and Pig Industry (SIAVS), the largest sector event in the country, to be held between 27 and 29 in Anhembi Park, in São Paulo (SP). The confirmation was made to the president of the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA), Francisco Turra, in a meeting held today at the Minas Gerais government headquarters, in Belo Horizonte (MG).
The meeting was also attended by the Secretary of Agriculture of Minas Gerais, Ana Maria Soares Valentini, the General Director of the Mineiro de Agropecuária (IMA), Thales Almeida Fernandes, the President of the Association of Aviculturists of Minas Gerais (AVIMIG), Antônio Carlos Vasconcelos , the advisor to the Union of Poultry Products Industries of the State of Minas Gerais, Cláudio Almeida Faria, as well as the advisers of Avimig, Délcio José dos Santos and Carlos Fábio Nogueira Rivelli, and the president of Pif Paf Alimentos, Luiz Carlos Mendes Costa.
During the meeting, issues were discussed such as strengthening the structure and health care in Minas Gerais territory, valuing the work of the IMA, simplifying environmental licensing processes, among other points.
At the occasion, the ABPA president highlighted the importance of poultry and pig farming to Minas Gerais and Brazil, as an activity that generates employment and income, as well as foreign exchange for the country. Turra also emphasized the importance of SIAVS as the main political meeting , technical and commercial of the productive sector in 2019. “The Governor was highly receptive to the event and understood the importance of the initiative for the mining sector,” said Turra.
