Governor of Santa Catarina accepts invitation to SIAVS
Event counts on the participation of the governors of the main producing and exporting states
The Governor of Santa Catarina, Carlos Moisés, received yesterday (8) the president of the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA), Francisco Turra, in his office in Florianópolis (SC).
At the occasion, in addition to addressing the demands and priorities of poultry and pig farming for the year 2019, the governor also accepted the invitation to open the International Salon of Poultry and Pig Industry (Siavs), the largest and most important political-commercial event of the sectors in the country, which will be held between August 27 and 29, at Anhembi Parque, in São Paulo (SP).
ABPA expects the participation of the Governor of Santa Catarina, Carlos Moisés, at the official opening of the event. “The State of Santa Catarina is among the main producers and exporters of Brazilian chicken, eggs and pork. The presence of the Governor of SC will honor these sectors that contribute greatly to the economy of the state and the country, “said Francisco Turra, President of ABPA.
The program of the previous edition consolidated the SIAVS as the main political framework of the sector and gathered during the opening ceremony the governors of São Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás, Santa Catarina and Espírito Santo, as well as the vice governors of Rio Grande do Sul South and Paraná. Also in 2017, more than 15 thousand visitors from 51 countries participated in the SIAVS. Around 1,700 congress participants participated in one of the largest agribusiness lectures in Brazil, with more than 100 speakers and panelists.

About SIAVS – Main event of the national poultry and swine calendar, SIAVS attracted more than 15 thousand visitors from 51 countries in its last edition. Around 1,700 congress participants participated in one of the largest agribusiness lectures. The Producer Project, an exclusive initiative of the SIAVS focused on poultry farmers and pig farmers, attracted 1,400 producers to Anhembi Parque. About 150 companies exhibited their products and solutions at the largest poultry and swine breeding trade fair in Brazil. In all, 31 poultry, egg and pig exporting agroindustries participated in the event, participating in meetings with importers, domestic market buyers and suppliers.
